A healthy diet for budgies is mostly pellets, like 60-80% of their food. The rest should be veggies and some fruit, plus a little bit of seeds. They eat about a tablespoon of food per day (around 15-16 grams). And obviously, fresh water every day is a must.
Breakdown of what to feed them:
Pellets (60-80%): These have all the important vitamins (A, E, D3, etc.) so they don’t get sick.
Veggies & Fruit (15-20%): Stuff like spinach, kale, carrots, and broccoli are good. Fruit (apples, bananas, melon) is fine, but only a couple times a week since it’s sugary.
-Seeds (10-15%): Seeds aren’t actually that healthy—they’re kinda fatty. Don’t just feed seeds all the time or your bird might get chubby. Save them for treats or training.
That’s pretty much it! Just keep it balanced and they’ll be good.
