Members Budgies for sale! Looking to buy or sell some feathery friends? Here’s how it works: when you post, make sure to include the bird’s age, colour, whether it’s a boy or girl, and—duh—the price. Cash only when you pick 'em up, no shady business. Oh, and throw in your location too, so folks know where to swing by.

Just FYI—Avery Budgies isn’t running these sales, even though we check posts before they go live. It’s all on the sellers, so do your own homework. And hey, keep it cool—no dropping personal details in the ads. Want to reply or chat? Got to be a member first. Simple as that.

Unlike us, we've tried every trick in the book to stop wasting birdseed. Honestly, it's been a nightmare—seeds everywhere, budgies flinging millet like it's confetti. But guess what? We might've cracked it.

Check out the new setup in the pic—all the food (seeds, veggies, fruit) stays in one spot now. Still get some airborne snacks when the little feathery maniacs take off, but hey, at least it's not raining seeds across the whole aviary any more. Baby steps, right?

Keeping quail in your backyard? Honestly, it's kinda awesome. They're tiny, low-maintenance, and way more useful than you'd think. Like, forget chickens—quail are the underrated MVPs of backyard poultry.

First off, their eggs? Small but mighty. Packed with protein and vitamins, and lower in cholesterol than chicken eggs. Plus, they look adorable—like something you'd see in a fancy brunch spot.

And they’re stupidly easy to take care of. No massive coop needed—just a small space (seriously, they don’t need much). They eat less than chickens, so your feed bill stays low. Bonus: they’ll chow down on garden pests like slugs and bugs, so you’ll spend less time fighting off creepy-crawlies.

Their poop? Gold. Literally. Quail manure is killer fertilizer—nitrogen-rich and perfect for boosting your veggies or flowers. No chemicals, just natural goodness.

Kids love ’em too. Watching quail scratch around, lay eggs, and do their weird little bird things is weirdly entertaining. Plus, it’s a sneaky way to teach them about nature without it feeling like a lecture.

So yeah, if you’re looking for something small, easy, and actually useful? Quail. They’re like the perfect backyard side hustle—minus the hassle.

Feeding Dishes

When picking out dishes for your budgie, you've got a few solid options:

- Plastic ones with little hooks to hang 'em up
- Stainless steel bowls that clip onto the cage bars
- Heavy ceramic crocks that just sit on the cage floor (good if you've got a clumsy bird!)

Here's the deal – keep their dry food, fresh snacks, and water in separate dishes. And make sure the water dish is big enough for them to splash around in if they wanna take a quick bath.

Got multiple birds? Give each one their own food spot so they don't get all territorial at mealtime.

Oh, and check those dishes regularly – if they're cracked or chewed up, swap 'em out before your bird gets hurt.

Last thing: scrub those dishes every single day. Nobody wants crusty old food sitting around.

(Yeah, I know it sounds like a lot, but happy birds = happy life!)

Bedding

The bottom of your budgie’s cage needs paper lining so you can clean it every day. Also, keep an eye on their poop—like, check if it looks weird, ‘cause that could mean they’re sick.

There’s a bunch of cheap, easy-to-find paper you can use:

- Newspaper (obviously)
- Paper towels (the plain ones)
- Plain paper from packaging (like the brown stuff)
- Brown paper bags (from the grocery store)
- Butcher paper (if you can find it)

Don’t use glossy ads—the ink might be toxic if your budgie eats it. Also, stay away from pelleted paper or crushed corn cob bedding. Those hold moisture, and that’s bad ‘cause it can grow mold, especially if it’s warm. Plus, it hides sick-bird signs like extra-wet poop, which you’d wanna notice.

Short version: keep it simple, use basic paper, and don’t overcomplicate it.
